Jarrod Cameron Biography

Wednesday, 4 March 2020
Jarrod Cameron continues to deal with pubic bone stress injury. The Eagles will take a conservative approach with his recovery.

"He's probably going to have at least a month of no running and pretty limited activities which obviously will delay his start to the season," Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo said.

"How quickly we elevate his training will be dependent on symptoms as we progress through the process."

Wednesday, 8 January 2020
West Coast joins the AFL and AFLPA in condemning a racial attack on Eagles forward Jarrod Cameron on social media.

Cameron, the younger brother of Lions star Charlie, put up a screenshot of the abusive message he received on his Instagram story.

"Clearly, as a society, we have a lot of work to do to eradicate these assaults on our Indigenous players as well as other racist attitudes, and we must continue to educate fellow Australians on community expectations," the club said in a statement.

"These hurtful insults cannot continue and our club will do all within its power to bring this behaviour to an end."

Thursday, 20 June 2019
Jarrod Cameron makes his AFL debut for West Coast at Perth Stadium with 7 disposals (6 kicks and a handball), 2 marks, 7 tackles and 2 goals in a 35-point win over Essendon.
Tuesday, 27 November 2018
West Coast draftee Jarrod Cameron will have his start to pre-season delayed because a mate drove over one of his feet, breaking one of his big toes.

"I was at home opening a gate for a mate and he decided to tap me, and my foot got caught under the car," Cameron said.

Friday, 23 November 2018
West Coast select Jarrod Cameron with pick No.39 in the 2018 National Draft.

West Coast was forced to match a bid on their Next Generation Academy prospect by Brisbane at pick No.39, with the Lions clearly keen to pair the diminutive forward with his older brother Charlie at the Gabba.

"Clearly with the Charlie connection, they've followed him really closely, so we knew there was the potential of that coming," West Coast list manager Brady Rawlings said.

"That was all the more reason for us to make sure we had three picks before a potential bid from Brisbane. We were able to do that in a trade, then we had the points to match a bid for Jarrod wherever the bid came."

Wednesday, 7 November 2018
West Coast nominate Jarrod Cameron as a Next Generation Academy pick.

"We're happy to nominate Jarrod and now it's about maybe where a bid comes for him," Eagles recruiting manager Rohan O'Brien said.

"He's done some good things this year with his footy. We largely left him alone really to play at Swan Districts and with the WA state team. He's had a little bit of involvement with us."

Saturday, 27 October 2018
Charlie Cameron's younger brother, Jarrod Cameron, is set to join West Coast as part of their Next Generation Academy program in the 2018 AFL Draft.

"He's got more of the speed and the jump, but I've probably got him in some other skills," Jarrod said about Charlie.

"We didn't play much footy as kids. We played a few games together in the backyard, where he probably got the best of me, so I wouldn't mind playing against him again.

"I suppose there would be a bit of a rivalry there. If I ever played against him in the AFL, I'd probably have a good crack at him."
